Match the video model to text-to-video, image-to-video or reference-driven work. Compare duration, resolution and audio requirements, and design your application around asynchronous job tracking.
Which AI video API should I use for my project?
Start with the kind of input you have. A model designed for text-to-video may not support the same controls as an image-to-video or reference-video model. Then check duration, output resolution, aspect ratio, audio generation and input size limits.
Use the same scene and acceptance criteria when comparing results: subject consistency, plausible motion, camera control and the amount of editing needed afterward. Orux's video model catalog is a starting point for checking available model forms; verify the current page rather than assuming a specific model supports every video feature.
Why does a video API return a task ID instead of a finished video?
Video generation can take longer than a normal interactive request. An asynchronous API acknowledges the submission with a task identifier, then lets your application check the task until it reaches a final state.
In Orux, follow the selected model's task example in the documentation. Save the returned task ID before updating your user interface. Display queued or running states while waiting, and show the result only after the task reports success. A successful submission response does not itself prove that generation has completed.
Should I submit another video request when polling is slow?
Do not automatically resubmit a generation merely because a status check times out. The original job may still be running, and another submission may create a separate billable job. Keep the original task ID and check its status again according to the documented polling behavior.
Track request delivery, generation completion and billing as separate outcomes. If the result remains unclear, inspect your request history or contact support with the identifier. Retry a new generation only after you have established what happened to the original one.
How do I estimate the cost of a video generation?
Use the exact model and requested specification. Duration, resolution, audio and reference inputs can affect the applicable price. A quoted “per video” amount for one setting may not apply to another setting, and some models use a time-based billing unit.
Check the current model page and the estimate shown before generation, then compare it with the final usage record. When budgeting a campaign, allow for the number of attempts your own quality test requires. Do not turn an unmeasured success rate into a promised cost per finished clip.
